Apple iMac and Apple MacBook are current top sellers

Just perusing the Apple Store, I noticed that both their iMac and MacBook models are their 2 top sellers at the store. I don’t know that this is overall, or just at the store, so there you go.

You can find Memory upgrades for the Apple iMac HERE for individual modules, and HERE for Memory KITS

Find us at ramprices.com

About 12 years back, ramseeker.com started out as www.macseek.com. It was a feeble attempt at www.macsurfer.com -  but they do it much better at summarizing the news -  so now what? I don’t think www.macseek.com lasted a few weeks as a news summary site. It’s a lot of work. Back in ‘98, there weren’t news feeds and the like..content was actually created.

Well, one thing to do would be to look for deals, but what kindof deals? dealmac’s been done, and they do deals better than anybody else for the Mac - that’s taken.  So what next?

Well, as an Apple fan, I used to visit www.macresource.com, which posted the highs and lows and median prices of memory and ram, but they didn’t post any pricing. Well, I thought that was really a big waste of effort. It’s like having an ad in the newspaper and stating your product, but no price.

So. ramseeker.com was born. At first, ramseeker didn’t have it’s own domain name, but that was confusing. Ramseeker, at macseek.com didn’t exactly sound right, so www.ramseeker.com was registered as the primary domain name.

And over the years, I’ve acquired quite a few other domains names, which all lead to www.ramseeker.com.

Take your pick:

www.ramseeker.net

www.ramseeker.us

www.memoryupgrades.us

www.memoryshopper.com

www.ramprice.com

www.ramprices.com

www.ramprice.info

www.ramseek.com

www.ramseeker.biz

www.ramseeker.info

www.ramseeker.org

So there you go.  Many great names to choose. Same great taste. :)

Ramseeker.com newsletters save you money

Most newsletters you get offers to subscribe to want to do one thing: Take your money. They may be offered as news, or updates, or some other, but chances are the end result is to get you to buy something.

And, I suppose to be completely honest - we’re no better.

Wait, maybe that’s not true. What our newsletters offer is a way for you to save before you spend, and as such we offer two newsletters.

First, we offer an option where you can set your target price for a model/size of memory and you’ll get an alert via email when your target price has been matched. But don’t bother with this one. Heck, memory is cheap. Just buy the stuff, the speed and performance your computer will realize with more memory will far outweigh any other bang for buck purchase you can make today.

Secondly, and this is the one I suggest - you get a email list in your mailbox of EVERY model and size and price. Kind of like your own little personal ramseeker.com - right to your inbox, each and every day.

You can sign up for both of these HERE.

PC 2700 DDR Registered Prices

I wonder how many people just use google to search for pricing? And just go with what they see?

A quick google search for PC2700 MEMORY yields the following interesting results:

PC 2700 DDR pricing from google

PC 2700 DDR pricing from google

See the middle listing? Seems kindof high eh? That’s what I thought

So, off I go to our page for PC 2700 DDR ECC Registered, and we see that  1-800-4-Memory has the lowest price (Note, that I said lowest, not best. I leave the best decision to you)  for PC2700 DDR ECC Registered.

Go ahead, check it yourself

Just one more shameless plug for us I know, but this caught my eye. $299 for 2gb is just too much. The whole idea of our site is to find the best price from reputable vendors. Again, I said best price. Not neccisarily the lowest.

For further example, MemoryX offers the same chip for $199, which, while not as low as 1-800’s is still a better price than what google lists for this.

MemoryDeal.net (never heard of them until right now) offers the same for $142, which again is more realistic pricing than the google listing.

Edge Tech Corp, lists this part for just over $200, so expect to pay $140, and up for PC2700 DDR ECC Registered 2gb

Welcome to the ramseeker.com Blog - version 2.0

I guess an introduction is at I think this is a great, first post. (well, OK second post, if you include the ‘hello world’ post).

Thanks for the memories, indeed.  If if weren’t for you, loyal reader there would be no ramseeker.com, let alone a blog. I intend this blog to be about anything related to memory. It could be a review of a memory vendor’s site, it could be a short post where I notice a trend in pricing. Or a note about new products. or..

Well, you get the idea.

12 years ago, this site was an idea. The internet was fresh, new and uncharted. Now, its’ different. There’s You Tube, and Google, and all the big players. And here we are. A small niche, we track memory pricing and that’s it. Sure, there’s some archived pricing and charts, but for the most part all we offer is a quick, easy way for you to find a good deal on a memory upgrades from reputable vendors and not get hosed.

Most of the vendors you see listed on ramseeker have been listed since day 1 and I ask you that you patronize them. You buying your memory from them helps me to continue to add and improve ramseeker.

Thanks for the read, and hope you’ve enjoyed your time here.
